It is the basic interview. Because the company cannot select every person, they take a primary interview to identify potential candidates. This type of interview is also called a screening interview. In this interview, very basic questions are asked to the candidate and depending on their answers the HR either select or rejects them. The examinations are done to check the ability of the employee. Here we are talking about the physical and mental ability. It is checked whether the employee is able to perform the work or not. The stage of this step is not fixed, some companies ask the candidate at the beginning to submit their medical reports while some ask it at the end. Final selection is done when a candidate clears all the rounds of a selection or hiring process. This is the step where the candidate is made aware of his or her selection. So, once an employment test, interview, medical checkup, reference check, etc. is done the employee is sent an appointment letter and offer letter through emails and also a hard copy is handed over to the employee.
This appointment and offer letter confirm the selection of the person. This letter contains the person’s name, designation, salary, date of joining, working hours, leave policy, resignation policies, termination conditions, etc. A candidate must thoroughly read the letters before signing them. If a candidate is hired on probation, it is written in the letter. Also, some companies mention their increment policy in the offer letter. After everything is completed, the candidate can start their job on the date of joining as per discussion in the interview or as mentioned in the offer letter.
